The Flycolor Raptor electronic speed controllers have been developed specifically for multi-rotor use. They use a high performance EFM8BB2 1F 16G MCU processor, pipelined 8 B-bit C8051 core with 50MHz for maximum operating frequency and a smooth, linear and precise throttle response.
The BLHeli-S firmware is the next generation code following on from the very popular BLHeli code. It has been designed for superior performance in multirotors and uses hardware generated motor pwm for smooth and quiet throttle management. Damped light does the regenerative braking giving very fast motor slowdown and active freewheeling.
It also supports features to prevent sync loss and there are tuneable parameters that can make the code run really well even in the most demanding situations (see manual under the "Files" tab for programming parameters). The factory set default mode though works extremely well and is excellent for normal operating environments.
The Raptor range of ESC's are lightweight and come in a small package but are still top quality. With low resistance IC’s producing little heat and giving more efficiency.
The ESC code supports regular 1-2ms pulse width input as well as Oneshot125 (125-250us), Oneshot42 (41.7-83.3us) and Multishot (5-25us) The input signal is automatically detected by the ESC on power up. Easy upgrading and downgrading of firmware is a simple process through the BLHeli Suite.
